For the 2019-2020 season, we are offering two (2) complimentary practice sessions to new members before they fully register with our club. This will allow the athlete/parent the opportunity to determine if the sport of Olympic Wrestling is the right fit for them/their child before deciding on membership.
At this time, new members/parents will be able to participate/observe a practice and ask any questions they may have.
For all programs (Junior Youth, Senior Youth, and Adult)
The first practice for the season is on Tuesday September 24th, 2019 for new and returning club members. Registration packages may be printed below and will be due for returning members the first week of practices. For new members, the registration package will need to be handed in at the practice after your 2 practice trial period.
If you are interested in joining KWC after start of the season and would like to view/participate in a practice, please contact us via the website so that arrangements can be made. Joining the club anytime during the year is always welcomed.
Please register online or download and complete the registration form below, bring it to practice with you. Instructions are on our registration form including registration requirement with Ontario Amateur Wrestling Association. For more information: www.oawa.ca.
Please note: Athletes will not be able to participate in a practice (other than 2 free trial practices) until all of the steps in the registration process have been completed. This allows us to ensure that all insurance and liability requirements are met.
Membership from September 2019 to August 2020:
- Junior Youth, Grade 1-8: $200/Athlete;
- Senior Youth/Adult, Grade 9-12 + Adult: $300/Athlete.
To keep our registration fees as low as possible, we require one parent/relative from each family to do volunteer bingo training and to do approximately 8-12 hours of bingo volunteering a year. This is only 1-2 Sundays a year. Our bingos at this time are in 2 hour time slots one Sunday per month (Time slots are 12-2pm, 2-4pm, and then 4-6pm) The money raised from bingo funding goes directly toward facility costs, coaching expenses while away at tournaments, Clinics, tournament vehicle rentals, and most importantly it allows wrestling to be affordable for all families.
Membership Fees includes: Membership with the Kingston Wrestling Club, Membership with the Ontario Amateur Wrestling Association (Needed for any OAWA sanctioned tournaments including the Provincial/National Championships/Insurance), and a portion of the operating costs.
This Membership Fee does not include: the costs associated with tournaments and camps. (Transportation to and from tournaments, entry fees, accommodation etc.) This is on a pay to play basis as some athletes may choose not to participate in any tournaments throughout the year.
Please download, print and fill out the registration form below and return it at practice with membership fees.
